” I have made two 4-month journeys with my tandem tow trailer. Best bet is to find a long pull-through campsite so you don’t need to unhook the trailer. For back-in sites, we have to unhook and hand push the trailer to the back or side of the site depending on size. Fairly easy to push by hand if site is level. Recommend you get the HD model. I got the lighter & cheaper ST model and I am maxed out on weight loading my harley and my Honda Fit. Been very satisfied with the tandem tow.”

“Our setup is 67 feet long. The length is variable. I have the largest platform RaceCity RV product makes. The platform can be a foot shorter on some models. The platform on which the front wheels of the toad sit can be moved further forward or aft to adjust the tongue weight which can change the overall length.

It tracks very well behind the coach, maybe because of the pivoting at the ball hitch and the toad wheel platform pivoting. We will usually disconnect the toad and leave the dolly attached when at a campground for an extended peiod. Overnighting we will ask for the longest site if available. We have had to find another place to park the dolly a couple of times. When we have to do that we usually hook the dolly to the toad to move it. The dolly can be moved by hand (empty) but mostly on a paved or concrete surface.

Is it the perfect solution, maybe not but we have found it easier than an enclosed trailer (we have one of those also). An enclosed trailer will add a considerable amount of weight vs the tandem tow dolly but will keep things cleaner and dryer.”
